Every Indian wedding has two audiences: the couple, who want natural moments, and the families, who want every relative on stage with the couple. Candid and traditional photography serve both.
What candid covers
Candid photographers move around, unposed, catching laughter, tears and the small details: the bride's hands during mehendi, a grandparent's face during the pheras. Couples choose a studio largely on its candid work.
What traditional covers
Traditional photographers stay close to the rituals and the stage. They make sure every important relative is photographed with the couple, every ritual step is recorded, and the album has the formal pictures families expect.
Why you usually need both
One person cannot be at the stage and in the crowd at the same time. On the main wedding day, plan at least one of each. For smaller functions, one versatile photographer can often cover both styles.
Explaining it to families
Parents often ask why they need "two photographers". Explain it simply:
- the traditional photographer makes sure nobody is missed
- the candid photographer makes sure nothing beautiful is missed
Put both in the proposal as separate lines with what each delivers, and the question goes away.
Staffing tip
Pair a newer candid shooter with an experienced traditional photographer. The traditional photographer keeps the rituals covered while the candid shooter grows.

Each package lists its crew roles. When the wedding is booked, those roles become open seats on every session, so you can see straight away which sessions still need a candid or a traditional photographer.
