The Indian wedding shot list.

55 must-have photos from haldi to reception, in the order the day runs. Tick them off on your phone, or print a copy for every shooter.

Rituals and their names change from region to region and family to family. Ask the couple which ceremonies they are having and strike out the rest. Your ticks are saved in this browser only.

Making the list work on the day

  • Share it before the shoot. Every photographer and videographer should know who covers which moment, especially at the jaimala and pheras where two angles matter.
  • Ask for a family helper. One cousin from each side who knows everyone makes group photos fast and gets the names right.
  • Shoot the decor first. Mandap, stage and tables look their best before guests arrive.
  • Add the couple’s own requests. A grandmother’s ring, a pet, a family tradition: write them on the printout.
